the strengths and weaknesses of UNIX - Computer Operating Systems

 UNIX is the beginning of the operating system LINUX, UNIX beginning of the project Multics (Multiplexed Information and Computing Service) in 1965 by the American Telephone and Telegraph AT & T, General Electric (GE), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with a cost of Department American defense (Department of Defence Advenced Research Project, DARPA, or ARPA). Unix has been rarely used at present, but to learn more about UNIX, here are the strengths and weaknesses of the UNIX operating system :

Advantages :

1. Portability is that it can be adapted easily to other computers 
2. Multiuser, it can be used by many users at once 
3. Multitasking, can perform tasks at the same time
4.  Hierarchical file system, organizing information or data in a form that is easy to remember and accessible. 
5. Stable file system for database, server Internet, Intranet, file-server, Internet-client Java development. 
6. Having a better performance than Windows NT 
7. UNIX operating system is almost free

weaknesses:

1. Less attractive appearance     
2. Requires a large enough memory 
3. Still not many big games that are willing to run on this platform. 
4. Some hardware is difficult to provide drivers for Linux. 
5. Difficult to use for a novice user
